After today's session, Dave Weiss stood before a throng of reporters and spoke about the deteriorating state of Iraq: I just don't see how sending more troops is going to help. Our brothers and sisters in the GOP tend to say things like 'These deaths must not be in vain' or 'Stay the course', but that doesn't cut it for me. We need accountablity. When will enough blood have been shed? When will we try this president for war crimes?

Over the weekend, Senator David Weiss abstained from shopping. He was quoted as saying the following: "How can I lap at the teet of luxury as my brother sits in the gutter without socks on his feet? Should I fight the crowds and wreck my Weisswagon just to buy another sweater? Don't get me wrong. I love sweaters, but I love the American people more. |
